Car driving itself in Traffic Jam.
What a great invention! Have you ever think to have a car that can drive itself in traffic jam? What if you got a chance to have one because Volvo the car giant will launch a model with a groundbreaking system that regulates the vehicle’s speed to keep it the same distance from the car in front. Without touching the brake this car can even stop and start again itself.
This model called Volvo S60 and have new radar- based cruise control system on it. Another great things for this car is it comes with technology that can detect a pedestrian who steps out into the path of the car. If the driver can’t respond to the danger teir full braking power will be activated.
According to Thomas Broberg, safety expert at Volvo Cars, they aim for 2020 is that no one should be killed or injured in a Volvo car. Previous stages were developed to help the driver avoid collisions with other vehicles.
Thomas said ‘Now we are taking a giant step forward with a feature that also boosts safety for unprotected road-users. To our knowledge, none of our competitors have made such progress in this area.’
Previous radar-based cruise control systems have not been able to operate below 18mph.This comfort-enhancing system now becomes usable even in slow-moving queues with repeated starting and stopping.’
